Peppered Beef Steak with Horseradish Mash

If you choose to use Fillet steaks remember they are approximately 1cm
thicker so will need an extra 2-4
minutes cooking time.

  • 2 Lean beef sirloin or rump steaks
  • 450g (1lb) Potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 15mlsp (1tbsp) Black peppercorns, crushed
  • 6x15mlsp (6tbsp) Fat free fromage frâis
  • 2x15mlsp (2tbsp) Horseradish sauce
  • 2 Spring onions, finely chopped
  • Seasoning
Pre-heat the grill.

Place the potatoes in a large pan, cover with water, bring to the boil and cook for
15-20 minutes until soft.

Meanwhile take the steaks and sprinkle over the peppercorns. Cook under the
grill according to chart below.

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain and mash together with the fromage frais
horseradish sauce, spring onions and seasoning.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve the peppered steaks with the mash and seasonal vegetables.
